『150枚の画像が語る幕末・明治の国際都市ハコダテ』(はこだて外国人居留地研究会「第二の開港」プロジェクト立ち上げチーム編)の英語版 幕末開港以来、北の国際都市として発展し、国際交流の歴史と独特の街並みを継承してきた函館について、合計150 枚の豊富な図版と簡潔な文章で紹介。市街を眺望する写真、関連年表、参考地図などを交え、本文に記載の各テーマの時間的・空間的な関係も把握しやすくしています。新幹線延伸が、今後の函館発展の契機となり、また外国人のみなさまにも函館への理解を深めて欲しいという願いのもと、「2013 年度トヨタ財団国内助成」を受けて刊行しました。
